Your agency has asked for access to Framer. You don't need to share your password for it. Framer lets you add them with their own login, choose exactly what they can do, and remove them when the project ends. These are the clicks, checked against Framer's own help pages in November 2026.
Which role to choose
Pick the narrowest role that lets your agency do the work. Editor is usually the right one.
| Role | What it allows | For an agency |
|---|---|---|
| Editor | Designs, edits content and publishes this project. A paid editor seat. | Usually the right one |
| Content Editor | Edits CMS content, translations and page text in every project in your workspace. A cheaper paid seat. | If the work needs it |
| Viewer | Views the project and leaves comments, without editing. Free. | If the work needs it |
Add your agency to Framer
Editor
Designs, edits content and publishes this project. A paid editor seat.
- Open your project in Framer and click Invite at the top right.
- Enter your agency's email address and choose Full Access (Editor) in the menu next to it.
- Send the invite. If Framer asks you to confirm an extra editor, confirm it.
Framer bills an editor seat at $20 a month, unless your agency is a Framer Pro Expert or your workspace has no paid plan (up to three editors).
Content Editor
Edits CMS content, translations and page text in every project in your workspace. A cheaper paid seat.
- In the Framer dashboard, click your workspace name at the top left and choose Invite to Workspace.
- Enter your agency's email address and set the role to Content Editor.
- Click Invite, and confirm the extra seat if Framer asks.
A content editor seat costs $10 a month and covers every project in this workspace, not just your project.
Viewer
Views the project and leaves comments, without editing. Free.
- Open your project in Framer and click Invite at the top right.
- Enter your agency's email address and choose view-only access (Viewer) in the menu next to it.
- Send the invite.
How you both know it worked
With a editor request, your agency sees your project as active on their side once you accept it.
Remove access when the project ends
- In the Framer dashboard, click your workspace name at the top left, choose Invite to Workspace, then Members on the left.
- Click the role next to your agency's email address and choose Remove from team.
Do you have to share your password?
No. Every step above uses Framer's own invite, so your agency signs in with their own account, your two-step verification stays on, and anything they change is recorded under their name. How to give a developer access without sharing your password covers the other accounts agencies usually ask for.
Doing this for every client?
Agencies can send each client one GetSetKeys link instead of a page like this. It walks the client through Framer and the other platforms the project needs, and checks that each step is done.
