Your agency has asked for access to HubSpot. You don't need to share your password for it. HubSpot lets you add them with their own login, choose exactly what they can do, and remove them when the project ends. These are the clicks, checked against HubSpot's own help pages in October 2026.
Which role to choose
Pick the narrowest role that lets your agency do the work. Super Admin is usually the right one.
| Role | What it allows | For an agency |
|---|---|---|
| Super Admin | Every tool and setting, including users and billing. On a paid plan a Super Admin needs a Core, Sales or Service seat. | Usually the right one |
| Seat permissions | What the seat you give them allows: the marketing, sales or service tools, without account settings, users or billing. | If the work needs it |
Add your agency to HubSpot
Open Users & Teams If you have more than one HubSpot account, check the account name at the top right.
- In HubSpot, click the settings icon in the top navigation bar, then Users & Teams in the left sidebar.
- Click Add users, then Create new. Enter your agency's email address.
- Choose the seat your agency needs. Under Choose how to set access, pick Make Super Admin for Super Admin, or Use seat permissions.
- Tick Send email invites to these users, click Add a user, then Done.
How you both know it worked
HubSpot emails your agency an invitation from hubspot.com. Once they accept it, they show in your HubSpot account's list of people with access, where you can see or change their role at any time.
Remove access when the project ends
- In HubSpot, click the settings icon, then Users & Teams.
- Next to your agency's email address, click Actions, then Deactivate user.
- Under Status: Deactivated, click your agency's email address, then Actions, then Remove from account, and confirm.
Do you have to share your password?
No. Every step above uses HubSpot's own invite, so your agency signs in with their own account, your two-step verification stays on, and anything they change is recorded under their name. How to give a developer access without sharing your password covers the other accounts agencies usually ask for.
Doing this for every client?
Agencies can send each client one GetSetKeys link instead of a page like this. It walks the client through HubSpot and the other platforms the project needs, and checks that each step is done.
