Your agency has asked for access to App Store Connect. You don't need to share your password for it. App Store Connect lets you add them with their own login, choose exactly what they can do, and remove them when the project ends. These are the clicks, checked against App Store Connect's own help pages in October 2026.
Which role to choose
Pick the narrowest role that lets your agency do the work. App Manager is usually the right one.
| Role | What it allows | For an agency |
|---|---|---|
| App Manager | Release work: app records, App Store details, TestFlight and submitting for review. | Usually the right one |
| Developer | Uploads builds and runs internal TestFlight. Cannot submit or edit the listing. | If the work needs it |
| Marketing | App Store details and promotional artwork only. | If the work needs it |
| Admin | Nearly everything, on every app, including managing users. | If the work needs it |
Add your agency to App Store Connect
- Sign in to App Store Connect and open Users and Access.
- Under People, click the add (+) button.
- Enter your agency's email address, then choose the App Manager role.
- Turn on Access to Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles if your agency uploads builds for you.
- Click Next, select your app if a list of apps appears, then click Invite.
Only the Account Holder, an Admin or an App Manager can add users. Apple's invite expires after 3 days.
How you both know it worked
App Store Connect emails your agency an invitation from apple.com. Once they accept it, they show in your App Store Connect account's list of people with access, where you can see or change their role at any time.
Remove access when the project ends
- Open Users and Access in App Store Connect.
- Select your agency's email address and click Delete User.
Do you have to share your password?
No. Every step above uses App Store Connect's own invite, so your agency signs in with their own account, your two-step verification stays on, and anything they change is recorded under their name. How to give a developer access without sharing your password covers the other accounts agencies usually ask for.
Doing this for every client?
Agencies can send each client one Get Set Keys link instead of a page like this. It walks the client through App Store Connect and the other platforms the project needs, and checks that each step is done.
