Your agency has asked for access to Webflow. You don't need to share your password for it. Webflow lets you add them with their own login, choose exactly what they can do, and remove them when the project ends. These are the clicks, checked against Webflow's own help pages in October 2026.
Which role to choose
Pick the narrowest role that lets your agency do the work. Site manager is usually the right one.
| Role | What it allows | For an agency |
|---|---|---|
| Site manager | Designs with every feature and manages all site settings, including the site plan. | Usually the right one |
| Designer | Designs with every feature and edits custom code. Whether it can publish depends on your Workspace plan and settings. | If the work needs it |
| Content editor | Edits text, images, Collection items and page SEO settings. Cannot change the design. | If the work needs it |
Add your agency to Webflow
- In your Webflow Dashboard, go to Team, then Users, then Agency or Freelancer Guests.
- Click Invite guest and enter your agency's email address.
- Under Allowed roles, choose Site manager, select your site if Webflow asks which sites, then click Invite.
Guest access is free for you. Only a Workspace owner or admin can invite, and your agency needs a Webflow Agency or Freelancer Workspace plan to accept.
How you both know it worked
Webflow emails your agency an invitation from webflow.com. Once they accept it, they show in your Webflow account's list of people with access, where you can see or change their role at any time.
Remove access when the project ends
- Go to Team, then Users, then Agency or Freelancer Guests.
- Click the three dots next to the your agency Workspace, then Remove from Workspace, then Remove.
Do you have to share your password?
No. Every step above uses Webflow's own invite, so your agency signs in with their own account, your two-step verification stays on, and anything they change is recorded under their name. How to give a developer access without sharing your password covers the other accounts agencies usually ask for.
Doing this for every client?
Agencies can send each client one Get Set Keys link instead of a page like this. It walks the client through Webflow and the other platforms the project needs, and checks that each step is done.
