Your agency has asked for access to Kinsta. You don't need to share your password for it. Kinsta lets you add them with their own login, choose exactly what they can do, and remove them when the project ends. These are the clicks, checked against Kinsta's own help pages in October 2026.
Which role to choose
Pick the narrowest role that lets your agency do the work. Site administrator is usually the right one.
| Role | What it allows | For an agency |
|---|---|---|
| Site administrator | Full control of the chosen site and all its environments, including live. | Usually the right one |
| Company Developer | Manages every site and DNS in your company. No billing or company users. | If the work needs it |
| Site developer | Staging environments of the chosen site only. No access to the live site. | If the work needs it |
Add your agency to Kinsta
- Log in to MyKinsta and click Company settings, then Users.
- Click Invite users and enter your agency's email address.
- Choose Site and select your site, or choose Company for access to every site.
- Select the Site administrator role, then click Send invite.
Only the Company Owner or a Company Administrator can invite users.
How you both know it worked
Kinsta emails your agency an invitation from kinsta.com. Once they accept it, they show in your Kinsta account's list of people with access, where you can see or change their role at any time.
Remove access when the project ends
- In MyKinsta, open Company settings, then Users.
- Click the trash icon next to your agency's email address, then click Remove user.
- For each site your agency used, open Sites, then the site, then Info, and generate new SFTP/SSH and database passwords.
Do you have to share your password?
No. Every step above uses Kinsta's own invite, so your agency signs in with their own account, your two-step verification stays on, and anything they change is recorded under their name. How to give a developer access without sharing your password covers the other accounts agencies usually ask for.
Doing this for every client?
Agencies can send each client one Get Set Keys link instead of a page like this. It walks the client through Kinsta and the other platforms the project needs, and checks that each step is done.
