How to give an agency access to Squarespace Domains

Add your agency to Squarespace Domains as Domain manager without sharing a password: the exact steps, which role to pick and how to remove access later.

Your agency has asked for access to Squarespace Domains. You don't need to share your password for it. Squarespace Domains lets you add them with their own login, choose exactly what they can do, and remove them when the project ends. These are the clicks, checked against Squarespace Domains's own help pages in October 2026.

Which role to choose

Pick the narrowest role that lets your agency do the work. Domain manager is usually the right one.

Add your agency to Squarespace Domains

  1. Open your Squarespace domains dashboard and click your domain.
  2. Click Permissions, then Invite domain manager.
  3. Enter your agency's name as the name and your agency's email address as the email address, then send the invitation.

If your domain shares billing with a Squarespace website, invite your agency as a contributor on that website instead.

How you both know it worked

Squarespace Domains emails your agency an invitation from squarespace.com. Once they accept it, they show in your Squarespace Domains account's list of people with access, where you can see or change their role at any time.

Remove access when the project ends

  1. Open your domains dashboard, click your domain, then Permissions.
  2. Click ... next to your agency, then Remove domain manager.

Do you have to share your password?

No. Every step above uses Squarespace Domains's own invite, so your agency signs in with their own account, your two-step verification stays on, and anything they change is recorded under their name. How to give a developer access without sharing your password covers the other accounts agencies usually ask for.

Doing this for every client?

Agencies can send each client one Get Set Keys link instead of a page like this. It walks the client through Squarespace Domains and the other platforms the project needs, and checks that each step is done.
