What to expect from your agency's setup link

Your agency sent you a Get Set Keys setup link. Here's what you'll see: a few steps with their email filled in, check marks, and help on the page.

Your agency has sent you a setup link from Get Set Keys. It's how they get access to the accounts your project needs, such as your app store account, your domain or your payments, without you ever sharing a password. This page walks through what you'll see when you open it, how each step gets its check mark, and what to do if you get stuck. Dana at Harbor Fitness, whose agency is Northside Studio, is our example throughout.

Your agency's Get Set Keys link shows each step with their email and the right role filled in, checks each one as you finish it, and answers your questions on the page.

First, an email code (if your agency turned it on)

Some agencies add one extra check. If yours did, the link asks for a code sent to your email before it opens. Enter the code and you're in. It's there to confirm that the person opening the link is you.

One page, a few steps

The link opens one page with a short list of steps, one for each account your agency needs. Each step shows:

  • Which account it's for, such as App Store Connect, your domain or Stripe.
  • Exactly where to click in your own account.
  • Your agency's email and the right role, already filled in, so there's nothing to work out and no option to guess.

Here's what Dana's App Store Connect step asks her to do. These are Apple's own steps, at the time of writing:

  1. Sign in to App Store Connect and open Users and Access.
  2. Under People, click the add (+) button.
  3. Enter your agency's name and the email shown on the step, and choose the role shown.
  4. Click Next, select the app if a list appears, then click Invite.

In App Store Connect, only the Account Holder, an Admin or an App Manager can add people (Apple). If that isn't you, ask whoever manages your Apple account to do this step.

How each step gets its check mark

You don't need to email your agency to say you're done. Each step is confirmed in one of three ways, and gets its check mark when it is.

  • The platform's own invite email. When you invite your agency, the platform emails them, and the step is checked off when that email arrives at your agency's private verification address. In Stripe, for example, you open the Team tab in Settings, click Add member, enter the email shown, choose the role shown and click Send invites (Stripe).
  • A one-click sign-in. Where a platform allows it, the step is a one-click sign-in instead of an invite form.
  • A live DNS check. If your agency needs records added to your domain, the step shows each one, and the page checks your domain live until they appear. DNS changes aren't always instant, because records are cached for a while, so give it a little time (Cloudflare).

Shopify works a little differently. Instead of an invite, the Shopify step uses your store's collaborator request code, and shows you where to find it: a 4-digit code in your Shopify admin under Settings, then Users, then Users & permissions (or Users, depending on your setup), then Security. Your agency uses the code to send a request. To accept it, go to Settings, then Users, filter by Requests, open the request and click Accept request (Shopify). Shopify's advice is worth following: only accept a request you were expecting, from someone you recognize.

How it goes
  1. Open the link
  2. Follow a step in your own account
  3. The check confirms it
  4. The step gets its check mark
  5. Your agency sees it at once

If you get stuck, ask on the page

You can ask a question right on the page. Porter, the AI setup helper on every link, answers straight away, using that step's own instructions and the results of its live checks. Ask it things like "I can't find Users and Access" or "Which role do I pick?"

If Porter can't answer, for example a question about your project or your contract, it passes your question to your agency, who gets all of your questions in one place.

Two things Porter never does: it never asks for a password, and it can't mark a step done for you.

What you'll never be asked for

  • Your passwords. You give access through each platform's own invite or sign-in, so your passwords stay yours. You don't send one to your agency, and Porter will never ask.
  • A sign-in code from your phone. Your two-step codes are for signing in to your own accounts, and nobody needs them for these steps. If anyone asks you to read one out, say no. (The email code some links ask for is different: it's sent to you, for you to enter on the link.)

Skip the back and forth. Let one link walk your client through it

While you work through it

Checklist
  • Your own sign-ins for the accounts on the link
  • The phone or device you use for two-step verification
  • Time for one sitting, with the link open in your browser
  • Questions? Ask on the page
  • Reminders go out on their own if a step is still open, so you don't have to keep track of what's left.
  • Your agency sees each step as it's confirmed, and accepts each invite from their side.
  • Not sure about a request? Ask on the page before you accept it. Your agency gets your question in one place with the rest.

One link per client, with every step checked. Reserve a founding place

At the end of the project

When the work is done, your agency can send you a handover link, which hands the access back. You can also remove them yourself at any time: this guide for business owners shows how on App Store Connect, Google Play, GoDaddy, WordPress and Stripe.

Doing this for every client?

If you're an agency, this is what your clients see. Get Set Keys gives each client one link that walks them through each platform's steps and checks each one as it's done, while Porter answers their questions and passes anything it can't answer to you. Get Set Keys launches in November 2026, and you can reserve a founding place before launch.
